Does Your Cleaning Company Use Simple Green on Your Television?
I know that sounds like a crazy question, because it is! While we were out doing an estimate at a new client’s home they mentioned that one of the reasons they were in the market for a new cleaner was because their previous cleaner had used Simple Green to clean their television. As you can imagine, that didn’t turn out too well.
Even though I was pretty sure I knew what would happen, I decided to visit the Simple Green website to see if any of their products could be used to clean the screen of a television. When I entered television into the search box and hit enter, the only thing that came back was:

My point in this article is to show you that you really need to be aware of a) who you are hiring to clean your house and b) find out what products they will be using to do the cleaning. Sadly, in our industry, anyone with $500 and a vacuum can start a cleaning company. As a result, the possibility does exist that you could end up with someone who is just trying to make money and doesn’t research the products they use or how to use them properly. They just go about their job spraying and wiping with any product they can find at a local store because it’s inexpensive.
With all that said, I want to provide a safe product suggestion that I’ve used to clean my television and computer screens for the past 15 years. Since I bought my first television, I’ve used Monster ScreenClean. This product is safe to use on all major electronics. Not only is it safe to use, but Monster ScreenClean removes dust, dirt and oily fingerprints. This will leave your electronics looking clear and streak free.
You can also buy a kit that comes with both the cleaner and a microfiber cleaning cloth that is safe to use on the delicate screens of today’s televisions and other electronic screens. The cloth won’t scratch your television like a lot of others on the market. You can purchase the cleaner or kit online or at almost any major retail store that sells electronics. Prices start at $9.99 and go up based on the amount of the cleaner or the specific kit that you buy.
All you need to do is fold the microfiber towel in fourths, spray the cleaner directly on the cloth and apply evenly to the screen you are cleaning. After cleaning, flip the cloth over and use the dry side to wipe the cleaner off, leaving your screen looking new and clear.
